NEET 2022 Exam Latest News
The NEET UG 2022 application process may begin in end of March due to the assembly polls and the ongoing situation in Covid-19. The NEET 2022 exam could be scheduled for June-July 2022. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022, the undergraduate medical entrance examination, will likely be conducted in June or July 2022. As per discussions between the Education and Health Ministry, NEET UG 2022 will take place between the 3rd week of June and the 1st week of July. NEET 2022 Application Form
The online NEET (UG) 2022 Application Form will be available officially on neet.nta.ac.in. The students who have been looking for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BHMS and another undergraduate (UG) medical courses have to qualify National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The online registration dates will be announced along with the NEET 2022 Notification.

Important information for the candidates
- Candidates can apply for NEET (UG)-2022 through the “Online” mode only.
- Submission of Online Application Form may be done by accessing NTA website ntaneet.nic.in. The Application Form in any other means will not be tolerated.
- Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
- Candidates must ensure that e-mail Addresses and Mobile Numbers provided in the Online Application Form are their own or parents only as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on registered Mobile numbers only.
Steps to Apply Online for NEET 2022 Exam
The candidates have to fill out the application form only once, else the NEET admit card will not be provided to the candidate and his/her candidature will be forfeited for the upcoming examinations.
Follow the steps given below to fill NEET 2022 application form:
Step-1: Enter your or your parent's unique Email Id and Mobile No.to begin with the online registration process
Step-2: Fill in the Online Application Form and pen down the system-generated Application No.
Step-3: Upload the duly scanned images of Candidate’s latest Passport size Photograph (size: 10 kb to 200 kb), Post Card size photograph (4”X6”) (Size: 50 kb - 300 kb) and Candidate’s Signature (file size: 4kb - 30kb), Left hand thumb impression (file size: 10 kb-50 kb) in JPG/JPEG format. (In case of any eventuality of left thumb being unavailable, right-hand thumb impression may be used.), Class X Passing Certificate (file size: 100 kb to 400 kb) in JPG/JPEG format.
For photographs, the focus needs to be on the face (80% face coverage, ears clearly visible, on white background).
Step-4: Pay the required application fee through online mode and keep the transaction slip for future reference. The candidate has to make another transaction of fee, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.
Step-5 After filling the form, download and save the form and take a printout of the Confirmation Page after successful submission of the application form.
Documents required while filling the Online Application Form for NEET 2022
All the documents mandatory for filling the Online Application Form must be scanned images necessarily in JPG/JPEG format, for uploading as part of the submission of his/her online application. Candidates must have the following documents scanned in the prescribed size and format in advance, to avoid any errors and omissions:
- Latest Passport size Photograph with white background (size: 10 kb to 200 kb)
- Post Card size photograph with white background (4” x 6”) (Size: 50 kb - 300 kb)
- Signature (size: 4 kb to 30 kb)
- Left-hand thumb impression (In case of any eventuality of left-hand thumb being unavailable, right-hand thumb impression may be used.) - file size: 10 kb to 50 kb)
- Class X Passing Certificate (file size: 100 kb to 400 kb)
In case the candidate makes an error, the correction window will be opened for making changes in Particulars of Application Form on the official website only and for a limited period of time.
Note:
No request for refund of fee once remitted by the candidate will be entertained by NTA under any circumstances.
The entire application process of NEET (UG)-2022 is online, including uploading of scanned images, Payment of Fees, and Printing of Confirmation Page. Therefore, candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/ Fax/ by Hand/E-mail.
NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for appearing in NEET (UG) is as follows:-
The students must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the minimum age requirement on or before 31 December of the year of their admission to the first year UG Medical Courses).
The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years. The upper age relaxation for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwD Candidates is 05 years.
Qualified candidates must fulfil the following criteria:
The candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination
In addition, they must have got a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) - 2022 for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses.
In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes (NCL) s, the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for Unreserved and General-EWS Candidates.
In respect of PwD candidates as per NMC, CCIM and BoGCCH guidelines the minimum marks in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 45% instead of 50%.
Provided further that the students who have received education abroad and wish to seek admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with 50% marks in class 12 and their equivalency determined by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.
The criteria for minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admission to MBBS courses shall also be applicable to concerned INIs.
NEET 2022 Exam Pattern (New)
NTA has released the revised exam pattern for NEET (UG) along with the detailed previous year notification.
Important points
- As per the new exam pattern, there will be 2 sections in each subject consisting of 35 questions in Section A and 15 questions in Section B (out of which 10 are optional).
- There will be 200 Multiple Choice Questions (out of which 20 are optional). Each correct question carries 4 marks.
- NEET (UG) – 2022 is a Pen & Paper-based Test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen
- There will be a negative marking of minus one (-1) mark for each incorrect answer.
- The total duration of the NEET 2022 Exam is 3 hours (180 minutes)

NEET 2022 Admit Card
Once the examination forms are duly filled and submitted the students can download their Admit Cards on the NTA website on the scheduled date. The NEET Admit Cards might be available three days before the exam date. The admit card of NEET 2022 will be available in online mode only.
- Candidates are advised to regularly visit the NTA website and also check their e-mails/SMS for the Latest Updates regarding the release of NEET Admit Card.
- Candidates shall appear at their own cost at the Examination Centre on the Date and Timing indicated on their Admit Card issued by the NTA.
- Any request to change the Examination Centre, Date and Time provided on the Admit Card shall not be considered under any circumstances.
- Candidates are advised to take 6-8 Passport size and 4-6 Post Card size (4”X6”) colored photographs with white background.
- The photographs are to be used for uploading on the Online Application Form, for examination and also for Counselling/Admission.
Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the Admit Card:
1. Go to the official website of NTA NEET or click on the below link when the admit card releases on the official website
2. Enter the application number, date of birth and the security pin.
3. Click on “Submit”.
4. Admit card of NEET will appear on the screen.
5. Check the details mentioned on the admit card.
6. Download the NEET UG admit card 2022.
NEET 2022 Result
The NEET (UG) Result 2022 will be uploaded on the official website ntaneet.nic.in after the successful conduction of the exam. The candidates must keep an eye on the official website or bookmark this page to get notified when the result is announced officially.
