Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute located at Kelambakkam in the district of Chengalpattu, Chennai is one of the most reputed Health Sciences’ Institutes in the state of Tamilnadu. The Medical College is popularly known as CHRI, Chennai. It was established in 2006 and since the inception of this college. 

It became a constituent unit of Chettinad Academy of Research & Education, which has been recognized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and conferred upon the Deemed status in 2008 by the UGC, New Delhi under the UGC Act, 1956. CARE has also been accredited with Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC.

Currently, the college has been conducting several PG and Superspecialty programs well approved by the National Medical Commission (Earlier MCI), New Delhi along with MBBS at the Undergraduate level. Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute have also been awarded a star by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Govt. of India.

Chettinad Hospital & Research Institute, Chennai offers MBBS at the Undergraduate level and MD, MS at the Postgraduate level. Apart from Advanced medical courses, CHRI has also been imparting Superspecialty programs in distinct specializations.
