Father Muller Medical College is a Christian minority medical institution established in 1991. A medical college is an integral unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, a registered society owned by the Catholic Diocese of Mangalore.
Father Muller Medical College popularly abbreviated as FMMC, Mangalore, was established primarily for the benefit of the members of the Christian Community. However, like all other educational institutions under Catholic Community, FMMC is open to all students irrespective of religion, caste, or community as per the guidelines of KEA and NMC altogether.
As far as Academic programs are concerned, Father Muller Medical College has started Postgraduate degrees in 1991, and later in 1999, MBBS at the Undergraduate level was started with the permission of the National Medical Commission (Earlier MCI), New Delhi. FMMC, Mangalore was recognized by NMC and well approved by MoHFW, Govt. of India.
Father Muller Medical College is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. Several Clinical and Para-Clinical branches of modern medical sciences are offered through MD/MS programs. Besides it, several super specialty programs are also being offered through DM/M.Ch courses.
FMMC, Mangalore is spread over a green lush area of 30 acres equipped with advanced amenities for the students as well as faculty & staff. As far as accreditation and recognition are concerned, FMMC, Mangalore is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. Independent Private Sector Initiative specializes in rating colleges, and schools have awarded Diamond College Rating to Father Muller Medical College.
