About College

The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 1957 as one of the first self-financing Engineering colleges in India. In 2000, it became a constituent institute of the deemed university Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Currently, the Institute offers BTech, MTech and MCA in various specialisations. It also gives students the option to conduct full-time or part-time research. The applications for all the programmes are Open now for admission 2022.

MIT undertakes sponsored research programmes supported by funding agencies, such as DST, CSIR, AICTE and the Ministry of Environmental Sciences. It has collaborative research programmes in partnership with premier research laboratories and institutes in India as well as abroad. Additionally, the Institute also has student exchange programmes with more than 15 foreign universities, including Queensland University of Technology (Australia), Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany), Saint-Etienne-Du-Rouvray, Esigelec (France) and many others. Apart from these tie-ups, it also has industrial collaborations for projects and innovations with approximately 10 foreign universities and eight MNCs, such as TCS, Infosys, Intel, etc.

MIT Manipal has an Innovation Centre that encourages entrepreneurial talents among students, faculty and people of the region. It facilitates inter-disciplinary research and incubation to startups and budding entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it has Manipal Universal Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI), which is one of the 54 Technology Business Incubators funded by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It was founded in 2010 and its thrust areas include Information Technology in Healthcare, Agriculture, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Systems, and MEMS/Nanotechnology.

Manipal Institute of Technology Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to MIT Manipal must register online on the official website of MAHE. The application forms are generally released in October-November every year. The application fee is Rs 600 for the General category and Rs 2,500 for the NRIs. A course-wise description of Manipal Institute of Technology admission process is provided below:

  • Admission to BTech and MTech is based on a candidate's performance in MET conducted by MAHE

Manipal Institute of Technology Manipal Cutoff 2021

Manipal Institute of Technology BTech Cutoff Rank List 2021 is released for Round 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. The MIT Manipal BTech Cutoff Rank list 2021 is released basis candidates’ performance in the Manipal Entrance Exam (MET). Manipal Institute of Technology Courses

The Institute offers nearly 45 courses at UG and PG level across the streams of Engineering and IT. The duration of the BTech course is four years and that of the PG programmes is two years. MET is conducted by MAHE to accept admission to its BTech and MTech programmes. Additional weightage is given to GATE qualified applicants during the MTech admission process. For MCA, however, admission is accepted on the basis of a candidate's merit in the qualifying exam.
