Sir MVIT was established in 1986 by Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust. The campus of the college spreads over an area of 133 acres of land. The college is accredited by NAAC and NBA. Sir MVIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and approved by AICTE. Sir MVIT is an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institution. The college also has many clubs and committees like LEO Club, ECO Club, Entrepreneurship Cell, Riposte Dance Club, etc.

Sir MVIT Clubs, Committees and Societies

  • Abhikalpana - The club works for the welfare of the underprivileged children.

  • LEO Club - The club improves the communication skills of the students through group discussions, mock interviews, resume building, extempore, etc.

  • Riposte Dance Club - The members of the club participate in on-campus and off-campus dance competitions.

  • MVIT QUILLZ - The club organises quiz competitions like Nobel Memorial Quiz, TATA Crucible, etc. 

  • Shutter Bugs - This is the photography club of Sir MVIT. The club encourages students to showcase their talent.

  • ECO Club - The club conducts environmental awareness programmes.

  • Entrepreneurship Cell - The cell teaches entrepreneurial skills to the students.

  • NSS - The National Service Scheme of Sir MVIT conducts social awareness programmes like blood donation camps, mass tree plantation, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, etc.

  • G.A.P - Getting Across to People is the arts and theatre club of the institute. The members play skits and theatre.

Sir MVIT Facilities

The facilities provided by the college are boys hostel, girls hostel, library, sports, gym, cafeteria, medical clinic, auditorium, wi-fi, IT infrastructure, laboratories, bank, etc. Sir MVIT facilities of hostels are available for both boys and girls students. The college has a spacious and fully automated library. Numerous resources are available in the library. Every department of the college has its own laboratory. The laboratory facilitates practical knowledge besides theoretical understanding among the students. Chess, carrom, badminton, table tennis, kho kho, basketball, volleyball, cricket, football, athletics, etc are the various indoor and outdoor sports available at Sir MVIT. A gym is also available.

B.E, B.E Lateral Entry, M.Tech, M.C.A. and M.B.A are the courses offered by the college. Sir MVIT course eligibility criteria are given in the table below. Candidates should have minimum qualifying marks in 10+2 or graduation as the required eligibility criteria. After meeting the eligibility criteria, candidates also have to appear for entrance tests like COMEDK UGET or KCET for B.E programme, Karnataka PGCET for M.Tech, M.C.A. and M.B.A programmes, etc. Qualified candidates have to appear for further admission rounds.

Sir MVIT Admissions

Sir MVIT admissions are offered to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. For admission to the programmes, candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria and appear for the entrance test. For Sir MVIT admission, candidates have to meet the cutoff and appear for counselling. Candidates have to select Sir MVIT while registering for counselling. After that, selected candidates have to submit the documents and pay the fees.

Sir MVIT Admission Process - B.E (Through COMEDK UGET)

  • Meet the eligibility criteria.

  • Appear for COMEDK UGET.

  • Release of ranks and cutoff.

  • Qualified candidates have to appear for COMEDK UGET counselling and give preference to Sir MVIT.

  • Allotment of seats.

  • Submit the documents and pay the fees.

Sir MVIT Admission Process - M.Tech/M.B.A/M.C.A. (Through Karnataka PGCET) 

  • Meet the eligibility criteria.

  • Appear for Karnataka PGCET.

  • Release of merit list and cutoff.

  • Appear for Karnataka PGCET counselling and give preference to Sir MVIT.

  • Seat allotment.

  • Finally submit the documents and pay the fees.

Sir MVIT Cutoff

Candidates have to meet the Sir MVIT cutoff after appearing for the entrance test for admission to the B.E programme. The college accepts scores of COMEDK UGET and KCET for B.E programme admission. Sir MVIT cutoff is released after the declaration of the result. Candidates have to meet the cutoff in order to qualify for the further admission rounds.

Sir MVIT Scholarships

Sir MVIT scholarships are provided to eligible candidates. Students at Sir MVIT can avail scholarships like Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities, Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses, Financial Support to the Students of NER for Higher Professional Courses (NEC Merit Scholarship), etc. These are central government scholarships. 

  1. Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities - Minimum 50% marks in the previous final examination is required to avail the scholarship. The annual family income should also be up to Rs. 2 lakhs. Under this scheme, Rs. 3,000 per annum is awarded.

  2. Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses - To avail the scholarship, candidates should have minimum 50% marks in the previous final examination and annual family income should be up to Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Rs. 20,000 per annum is the scholarship amount awarded.

Sir MVIT placement cell helps in the placement of the students. The cell also conducts placement training like workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, group discussions, mock interviews, etc. Sir MVIT placement is conducted on-campus.
