About SIT Pune

Established in 2008, Symbiosis Institute of Technology is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). The institute offers B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Robotics & Automation and M.Tech programmes in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Robotics & Automation and Embedded Systems. SIT Pune mission is to inculcate the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family) and to promote ethical and value-based learning. The vision of SIT Pune is to promote international understanding through quality education. SIT Pune has collaborated with foreign institutions such as Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Ingolstadt University Germany, Purdue School of Engineering, IUPUI Indianapolis USA and Leibniz University Hannover, King Mongkut’s University, Thailand, University of Malaya, Malaysia, Ritsumeikan University, Japan, Hanyang University, South Korea etc. The institute has a campus area of 16 acres, located in Tal Mushi, Pune.

SIT Pune Location

The institute is located at Knowledge Village Project, Tal Mulshi, Village Lavale/Nande, in Pune. The nearest railway station is Dapodi Railway Station at a distance of 17 km. Pune International Airport is the closest airport at a distance of 25 km away from the institute. Students can take a bus from Kothrud Depot to reach SIT Pune.

SIT Pune Clubs, Committees and Societies

The institute focuses on the all-round development of students, for this, SIT Pune has various clubs such as Dance Club, Photography Club, Fine Arts Club, Green Cell etc. Students of SIT Pune actively participate in the activities conducted by these clubs.

• MESA: SIT Pune has a club that focuses on students technical and literary skills. The name of the club is MESA-  Mechanical Engineering Students Association of Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune.

• CESS: Civil Engineering Society of Symbiosis represents the faculty as well as the students and organises numerous activities and events related to this field. 

• Google Club: SIT Pune has a Google Club that promotes the Google Student Ambassador programme. It is an initiative taken by Google in order to promote interest and participation among students in the latest areas of Computer Science and Information Technology.

• EPIC: EPIC Club of SIT Pune promotes the entrepreneurial spirit and a culture for innovation among the students.

• Varsity Care: Varsity Club of SIT Pune is a social awareness club that imparts human values in students and creates a spirit of social service amongst them.

• International Cell: International Cell of SIT Pune aims at the internationalisation of higher education at Symbiosis.

SIT Pune Infrastructure and Facilities

The institute provides all the necessary facilities to the students to facilitate a smooth learning environment on the campus. SIT Pune facilities help in making students time on the campus more enjoyable and comfortable. SIT Pune facilities include a library, sports facilities, medical facilities, hostel, etc. SIT Pune library has a vast collection of books catering to the students and faculty research requirements. In total, there are 7 hostel blocks for students out of which 4 are for boys and 3 for girls. Students that are away from home can enjoy home-like food at SIT Pune canteen.  Apart from these facilities, SIT Pune also encourages students to participate in sports and for this, the institute offers sports facilities to the students. 

SIT Pune Courses

The institute offers B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in various specialisations. SIT Pune offers a total of 19 courses. The courses are offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Some of the SIT Pune courses are  B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, B.Tech Civil Engineering, B.Tech Information Technology, M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, M.Tech Computer-Aided Design and Manufacture, M.Tech Robotics and Automation, M.Tech Geoinformatics and Surveying Technology etc. The mode of study of SIT Pune courses is full time. The courses are available to students in the field of Engineering and Architecture, Computer Application and IT and Sciences.
